Disappointed...

Recently, I feel so disappointed by the taiwan dramas. Not the oldish few-hundred episodes kind but the idol kind...
It's like.. Where can we find those simple dramas anymore? Why do they make them so complicated?

Ok, I understand that it could be that with the complicated stories, audience will continue watching to find out what happens instead of the simple ones where we JUST KNOW that the couple will end up together and it'll be a happily ever after ending. But, the dramas nowadays juz dun make me go "wow!"...

First I watched "Invincible Shan Bao Mei" (无敌珊宝妹), starring Nicholas Teo and Amber Kuo. Ok, the story is generally fine, although I was made to dislike the male lead in the beginning, I did not really hate him. Then when I'm supposed to like him, I really did! As usual, the story ended with a happy ending but I was not satisfied with it. I'm not sure is it because I watched online and the last ep had contents cut out. But wad I saw in the second last ep's teaser preview for the final ep, I did not see in the last ep itself! So I was forced hanging there thinking if the drama really ended without those scenes or it was cut out by the ppl who uploaded it online. Sad... Disappointing...

Then I made another attempt after that and I watched "Love or Bread" (我的亿万面包), starring Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng. Only have one word for it man... Terrible. I dunno why but really cannot make it. Even before finishing the first ep, I can't watch anymore. Feel quite sad la because the I actually kinda like those 2 casts but I think the story ruined it.
However, there are many other possibilities though... That is, maybe I'm so used to them acting in the kiss series so I can't get accustomed to their roles in this one drama. Or, it could be the directing was bad and these 2 characters juz look too miserable and too much a loser... Lastly, maybe I juz disliked the way they portrayed it. The editing and all. One very common effect used is this freeze frame to emphasize them always meeting coincidentally. I did not like it even though I know the reason behind it. Way too over-used and cheesy. Nah...

So, yup! I guess I'll juz stick to japanese dramas and animes and mangas for now. Take a break from taiwan dramas ba...
Too much disappointment can really lead to hopelessness, I guess...
Buck up guys!
