FSV is 15! N we celebrated its birthday together today!
The past few days, the few of us have been going to school to pack goodie bags and attend briefings for this big event. This is the first yr, after 15 yrs of FSV, that they have decided to come up with a party. Partly to let the students all come together to reminisce the old times and also the party is for networking. N I totally agree. Through this party, we can really meet a lot of ppl and most of them are really quite big shots! Haha... Because FSV alumni takes up almost 90% of the industry. So, if we want to continue in this industry, they are the ones to look for! It was a very good chance to meet ppl. Too bad we did not have too much of a chance to mungle with the crowd. The only times we entered the club was when we went in to grab a bite and the lucky draw.
The beginning of today, we went back to school to pack the final things into the goodie bags. Which is the T-shirts. We had to separately label them in the sizes and it took us some time to get everything done. After which we went for lunch and came back to load the goodie bags into the bus. Sadly, calvin's shoe broke so after loading everything, we went to buy superglue for him. Luckily the glue was really super and the shoe was good all the way until we split ways. :D So most if us boarded the bus and we were waiting for the rest to turn up. However, they were printing some stuffs and it was not done yet. The driver got really pissed and started making calls to ppl complaining to them that we are over-running. After almost an hour, we told the driver to go first to St James then leave the others to take cab there. In the end, Calvin+Me+Xq+Joanna+JJ and the CTV gal went first over to the place. Then qam+marilyn will join us later via cab. We reached the place and had some problem with the bags then after walking around blindly for quite some time, we managed to put everything into place and gets stuff settled for the night. Guests started coming in and we proceeded with all the reception stuffs and all. Before we knew it, the sky turned dark and night fell. In between us working, we were given drinks and then a while later, food by the rest. Thank you so much! After that, I was given the cue to go in and get ready for the lucky draw. Apparently, they were having performances the whole while but when I entered, the female lead of Days was supposed to go on stage to perform a song, After her song, she said her congratulations to the rest enthusiastically (so enthusiastic that she pronounced FSV wrongly. Haha.. but pardon her for the mistake la. She excited ma...) Yup, so after that is my turn to show up on stage (DAMN SUAY! I lost the 'o-ya-bey-ya-som' match.. Haix..) So I was holding the box for them to pick the lucky winners. A lot of them won something from our group. Including Joanna who won a DVD player, JJ won a pinnacle package, Erez won some dvds, and Chiam won a very expensive bottle of wine. Haha.. Lucky guys... I wanted that camera! Damn! Haha.. But we had a fun night and all's well. :D After that, all of us rushed out to give out the goodie bags. It was really a mess. Quite amazed how different ppl are actually. Some of them actually fight to get more goodie bags whereas some of them dun even want the goodie bags at all! Shocking, really. I guess it is the time and place. When I was giving out free gifts at amk hub, ppl can cheat their way into getting extra gifts no matter wad they have to do. Seriously, was kinda pissed with that kind of attitude.
After wad seemed like the whole day, when it is actually only a few hours, the event finally ended and we went to change out of the event T-shirt. We then went back to Movida to finish up the drinks vouchers that we were given. Then after a very very long chilling session with drinks and dance, we made our way to chinatown for supper. Went to eat at the famous porridge place next to CK departmental store. It was nice but the tofu is a lil too salty for my liking. However, the raw fish is really superb! Haha...
After supper, with no other places in mind to go, we decided to all split up and go home. So I managed to catch up last bus whereas the rest took cab home. Lucky me! Haha...
All-in all, it's a really fun and fulfilling night. Was really glad that I attended it. :D
