Today is the second day of z's shoot. Like yesterday, I went over to help a lil. Although it is not much help but I tried to be as useful as possible and not block ppl's paths la.
One thing I dun understand and I think would never would is this thing called eye-power. we always use this term for special ppl hu have these kinda special abilities. Whereby they can actually 'help/work' by using juz their eyes and not moving.
Apparently, I experienced it a lot in productions... N it is really quite sad to see so many ppl having this special ability after being taught almost 3 yrs the same thing as I learnt. It's kinda disappointing la.
Another thing is the sense of urgency. I think this is a major problem for almost all of us as film students. It seems we have the misconception that time is always on our side. Which leads to us dilly-dallying then overrun then we have to cut shots and thus result in insufficient coverage. I dun understand y it is so difficult to settle on one thing and get it done fast. Ok, let's not talk abt the challenging things such as lighting and directing becoz those really require some time and experience will make you more efficient, hopefully. How abt small things like buying props and food? Do you really require so much time to decide that? Furthermore, ppl hu are not from your grp are volunteering to buy it for u leh... Really dun understand...
So, after the shoot, we went back with z to sch to return the equipments. Funny thing is, all of us hu went back with him, except joon tat, are not from the group. So wad happened to ppl in his grp? I tried asking. The answer I got was, "can't fit into the vehicle". Ok, let me get this straight. The ppl hu managed to fit into the back of the vehicle with the equipments was me, z, marilyn, qam, jj. 5 of us. N the no. of ppl in his grp is 7. So, I really dunno y. You put the plus and minus together urself la.
Then worst things seems to take place together. We went back to sch, saw chiam and dx and etc. Got their help to bring the equipments up, then were told to help them tear down the set... Which is what we did until we were shouted at to stop and chased out of the soundstage. So much for being a nice person. Seriously, you can't be nice in this world. You juz lose out.
Anyway, mood today: annoyed
